KATARA WASHINGTON PATTON is the author of eight books. Her latest book, Navigating the Blues, debuted on Amazon’s bestseller list. She enjoys writing about biblical principles in a light and practical way. She has been an editor in Christian publishing for 20 years and speaks regularly about publishing to writers.  She holds an M.Div. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, a masters of journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and a bachelor of arts from Dillard University. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Derrick, and her daughter, Kayla. When she has the opportunity, she also loves a good Zumba class and a challenging game of Scrabble.
